Description
DR class 74 with three freight wagons, Trix C-track oval and Mobile Station: a complete digital introduction to H0 1:87.
Contents and operation
The tank locomotive drives three axles and has a flywheel and traction tyres. Directional twin headlights are digitally switchable. Contents include an Omu open wagon, Gr/GR box wagon and Rlmms 58 stake wagon, plus 20 track sections: 12 × 62130, 4 × 62188 and 4 × 62172. Mobile Station, connection box, 36 VA/230 V power supply and illustrated guide are included. The manufacturer gives an approximate train length of 51 cm. Sound is not listed as equipment for this set.
Prototype and context
The formation represents Era III freight traffic in East Germany. DR vehicles are joined by a DB stake wagon temporarily used there, so the mixed railway markings are intentional. Open, covered and stake wagons introduce different loading tasks and provide a basis for later shunting operations.
Planning and compatibility
For H0 two-rail layouts, 16.5 mm gauge. The manual confirms mfx/DCC, factory DCC address 03 and a 360 mm minimum radius. mfx provides automatic registration. The manufacturer illustration gives roughly 150 × 76 cm for the oval; allow extra room for access and future points. Trix C-track extensions 62900, 62902 and 62903 are sold separately. Märklin centre-stud C track uses a different electrical system.
