A RheinCargo BR 285 diesel and three VTG freight wagons form an Era VI train in Z scale 1:220.
Train and theme
The three different freight wagon types give this set a distinctly modern theme. It is a useful starting point when contemporary freight operations are more appealing than a historic steam train.

- Metal chassis, plastic body and coreless motor; all driving axles powered.
- One Eaos open wagon, one Falns self-unloading hopper and one Shimmns sliding-tarpaulin wagon.
- Train length approx. 265 mm. Oval: 5 straight tracks 8500, 1 feeder track 8590, 4 curves 8520 and 6 curves 8521.
- Controller, switching power supply, rerailer and track-plan booklet included.
Expanding the layout
The supplied track layout can be extended with Märklin sets 8190, 8191, 8192, 8193 and 8194, or with your own design. The included track-plan booklet provides a starting point for planning. Extension sets are sold separately.
Choosing your set
When comparing starter sets, consider the track and power supply as well as the train. The stated train length describes the vehicles, not the space required for the complete layout. Check item references and Z-scale compatibility before adding accessories. For advice, tell us what equipment you already own and what you would like to build.
The manufacturer specifies this model for adults. Follow the locomotive and controller instructions. Power-supply mains input voltage must not be confused with the voltage applied to the track.
