Nuevo acoplamiento Märklin 72000

Nuevo acoplamiento Marklin 72000

 New 72000 Close Coupler

As you have already learned from various publications, we reworked the proven 7203 close coupler to adapt to prototypical, lower buffer heights on new tooling and presented our new 72000 coupler in the spring of this year.
The important thing in this process was the ability to use this new coupler on all of our items with a close coupler pocket in which our 7203 close coupler was previously used.
In the process, we paid attention to compatibility with our previous 7203 close coupler as well as with all other types of Märklin couplers.

In the future, we will equip all of our newly produced locomotives with the new 72000 close coupler. Due to the enormous variety of our products and the required tolerances, there may be exceptional situations, which cause difficulties with coupling or possibly not allow coupling. Here, we recommend using the new 72000 coupler too on the counterpart (locomotives/cars) to be coupled.
Therefore, we will initially deliver all newly produced locomotives with an insert sheet recommending that you mount the 72000 close coupler on the cars to be coupled to a locomotive with the same coupler. This will allow trouble-free coupling.
Later, we will include these notes in the instructions for the locomotives and the insert sheet will be left out.

On models consisting of new tooling with lowered buffers, in general the coupler on the counterpart (locomotives/cars) should be swapped out for the 72000 coupler, since it will otherwise lead to the old coupler snagging on the buffer due to the lowered buffer height.

Close Coupler Heads for Standard Coupler Pockets (cont. 50 pcs.)
The new close coupler head is specially planned for newly designed locomotives with prototypically lower buffer beams and thereby lower buffer heights above the top edge of the rail (according to NEM 303). This is to ensure the required freedom of movement for the coupler system below the buffer plates. This new close coupler head is compatible with all available Märklin couplers.
