Los vagones de la serie JPD 700.000 son un modelo formado a partir de la transformación de los vagones J-600.000, J1 o ORE1.
El parque de vagones J600.000 se incorporó a RENFE en 1974 coincidiendo con el momento en el que el modo de cargar y transportar las mercancías estaba cambiando, motivo por el que quedaron obsoletos antes de tiempo y sin uso claro por parte de RENFE.
Las series de vagones cerrados disponibles en ese momento eran los J-300.000 y los mas modernos J-400.000 y J-600.000 que disponían de pequeñas puertas centrales de carga que complicaban el acceso con medios mecánicos para la carga de mercancías paletizadas.
Con solo 10 años de uso, en 1985 se decidió realizar la transformación de los vagones J-600.000 para mejorar sus prestaciones.
De estas transformaciones surgieron las siguientes series:
- MA-1: Plataformas para furgonetas Serie MA-468.000 del que se construyeron 170 unidades
- JPD-1: Cerrado de paredes deslizantes “altos” Serie JPD-701.000 con 750 unidades construidas
- JPD-2: Cerrado de paredes deslizantes “bajos” Serie JPD-700.001 con 615 unidades construidas.
Del total del parque de vagones J-600.000 formado por 1625 se transformaron 1535 unidades en Villaverde Bajo por ATEINSA (Astilleros Españoles S.A.), permaneciendo los 90 restantes como vagones especiales, de servicio interno o
bien dados de baja.
Entre 1985 y 1987 se transformaron 615 unidades que inicialmente fueron numeradas dentro de la Serie JPD-700000 y más tarde como JPD-2.
El siguiente lote de vagones se transformó entre 1989 y 1990 contando con 750 vagones que pasaron a formar parte de la Serie JPD-701000 o JPD-1. Estos tenían las puertas mas grandes y por tanto mayor altura.
La transformación consistió en la eliminación completa de los 2 laterales del vagón y su sustitución por 2 puertas deslizantes de 5,92 m. de longitud y de 2.30m. de altura en los JPD-1 y de 2.14 m. en los JPD-2.
El modelo creado por ARNOLD de nueva construcción reproduce estos bonitos vagones que permiten a los aficionados crear largas composiciones donde puede mezclar diferentes decoraciones de este mismo modelo. Por ese motivo hemos creado set de tres vagones que facilitan formar un tren puro con este tipo de vagones.
Cada vagón cuenta con enganche corto y diferente matrícula.

The wagons of the JPD 700,000 series are a model formed from the transformation of the J-600,000, J1 or ORE1 wagons.
The J600,000 wagon fleet was incorporated into RENFE in 1974, coinciding with the time when the way of loading and transporting goods was changing, which is why they became obsolete before their time and without clear use by RENFE.
The series of closed wagons available at that time were the J-300,000 and the more modern J-400,000 and J-600,000, which had small central loading doors that complicated access by mechanical means for loading palletised goods.
After only 10 years of use, in 1985 it was decided to transform the J-600,000 wagons to improve their performance.
The following series emerged from these transformations:
- MA-1: Platforms for vans Series MA-468.000 of which 170 units were built.
- JPD-1: "High" sliding walled enclosure Series JPD-701.000 with 750 units built.
- JPD-2: "Low" sliding wall locker, series JPD-700.001 with 615 units built.
Of the total J-600.000 wagon fleet of 1625 units, 1535 units were converted at Villaverde Bajo by ATEINSA (Astilleros Españoles S.A.), with the remaining 90 remaining as special wagons, for internal service, or
or decommissioned.
Between 1985 and 1987, 615 units were converted, which were initially numbered as part of the JPD-700000 series and later as JPD-2.
The next batch of wagons was converted between 1989 and 1990 with 750 wagons that became part of the JPD-701000 or JPD-1 series. These had larger doors and therefore greater height.
The transformation consisted of the complete elimination of the 2 sides of the wagon and their replacement by 2 sliding doors of 5.92 m. in length and 2.30 m. in height on the JPD-1 and 2.14 m. on the JPD-2.
ARNOLD's newly built model reproduces these beautiful wagons, allowing enthusiasts to create long compositions where you can mix and match different decorations of the same model. For this reason we have created a set of three wagons that make it easy to create a pure train with this type of wagon.
Each wagon has a short coupler and a different number plate.
